Staff Resources

  • AVUs

To support Added Value Units, a working group of CEC school librarians has researched and gathered together lists of relevant, reliable and data-rich resources for use by staff and students at National 4 and National 5 level.  Topics covered include:

  1. Endangered species and conservation
  2. World War I
  3. Food for Health
  4. Saving Energy
  5. Medical Ethics

To receive a copy of the resources list for your subject area, please contact the Library.

  • Personal Development Material

The Library holds a range of CPD/Personal Development materials for staff, all of which are available to borrow.  These materials range from government publications to learning and teaching resources, How To guides to management and improvement planning materials.

  • InterLibrary Loans

If you are organising a special themed activity or event (e.g. Health Week), the Library can borrow resources from multiple sources.  This can include: artefacts, activity boxes, resource packs, books (fiction or information).  To ensure that your event is supplied in time, at least a week’s notice must be given to organise loans from other organisations and libraries.

  • Information Literacy Skills

A range of information literacy skills lessons are available for use with all year groups, to help students learn how to handle and evaluate information found in books and on the Internet for projects.  The lessons can be run as a course over several weeks, or taken individually based on departmental needs.  Please contact the Librarian to discuss in more detail.

  • Work space

The Library and its resources are available to all – this includes staff!
