Extra Curricular at JGHS
We are delighted to be able to offer such a diverse and exciting range of opportunities across the school for pupils to engage with during interval, lunch and after school.
We believe that this wider curriculum is incredibly valuable to the development of confidence, skills and self-achievement of our young people, and we do hope that many join at least one from the array of opportunities offered.

Duke Of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh Award has been thriving at James Gillespie’s High School since 2006 . We run this popular award as an extra-curricular activity at all three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold as well as running a senior curricular course at Silver.
We introduce the Bronze Award in S3 and then pupils who have completed the award by S4 are offered the Silver award. The Gold level is offered to seniors.
