The National 5 Skills for Work: Travel and Tourism Course is an introductory qualification in travel and tourism. It helps students develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes, needed for work in the travel and tourism industry.

The course covers four units of work:

  • Travel and tourism in Scotland
  • Travel tourism in the rest of the UK and Worldwide
  • Employability
  • Customer Service

These four units support learners to develop:

  • The knowledge to deal effectively with customer enquiries in relation to travel and tourism in Scotland, the rest of the United Kingdom and worldwide
  • Skills to deal effectively with all aspects of customer care and customer service in travel and tourism
  • Interdisciplinary skills to become effective employees across a range of job sectors

Assessment for this course is in the form of ongoing coursework. Learners must complete all coursework to achieve the course.
