Inclusion X Collaborative

Inclusive education at JGHS means class teachers, pupil support teams and young people working together so everyone reaches their fullest potential.

What Does the “X” Mean?

The “X” signifies true collaboration — inclusion by, with and through support. It represents the intersection of expertise, shared responsibility and the belief that every pupil has the right to access and thrive in the curriculum.

Our approach is built on an active partnership. It is not about extracting pupils to a separate space — it is about transforming every classroom into an inclusive one.

Our Three Strands of Support

🪑

Physical & Social

Optimising classroom space, layout, seating plans and peer dynamics to reduce stress and make learning structurally accessible for all.

📖

Teaching & Learning

Deploying high-impact scaffolding, adjusting pacing and diversifying assessment strategies so every learner can show what they know.

📋

Structures & Planning

Integrating learner profile insights directly into lesson plans, working collaboratively with Support for Learning, and establishing predictable routines.

The Circle Framework

Every department at JGHS uses the Circle Inclusive Classroom Scale (CICS) to self-evaluate inclusion priorities. Departments nominate an Enhanced Support Liaison to coordinate early and first-level curriculum adaptations, ensuring that inclusive practice is embedded across all subjects — not added on as an afterthought.
