Slighean a’ Churraicealaim / Qualification Pathways
The GME 3–18 pathway begins with early years total immersion in Sgoil-Àraich, continues through Gaelic primary education at Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce, and progresses to advanced certificated levels at JGHS.
S1 – S2: Bogadh Iomlan / Total Immersion
Pupils study all available GME subjects through the medium of Gaelic. S1 GME pupils spend approximately 70% of their time at the Darroch Annexe. All pupils must continue to study GME subjects until the end of S2.
S3 – S4: Teisteanas Nàiseanta / National Qualifications
- N5 Gàidhlig — mandatory for all GME pupils
- N5 Eachdraidh (History) — optional; must be taken through Gaelic if chosen
- N5 Sgrùdaidhean Nuadh-aimsireil (Modern Studies) — optional; must be taken through Gaelic if chosen
All pupils must choose a Social Subject in S3. If a GME pupil selects History or Modern Studies, it must be taken through the medium of Gaelic. This reflects the CfE entitlement to full Gaelic immersion, where possible, to the end of S3.
S5 – S6: Àrd-ìre / Senior Phase
- Higher Gàidhlig
- Advanced Higher Gàidhlig
- NPA Creative Industries
- NPA Childcare
