Digital Literacy and Computing Science at JGHS gives pupils the essential digital skills and computational thinking needed to navigate and create in an increasingly digital world. From responsible use of technology to the fundamentals of programming and data, this course lays the groundwork for further study in Computing Science.
S1 – S2
Pupils develop digital literacy skills for safe and responsible use of technology, alongside an introduction to computational thinking. The course covers the basics of programming, web design and data — equipping pupils with transferable skills relevant across every subject and future career.
S3 and Beyond
Pupils completing the Digital Literacy and Computing Science course are well placed to progress into the full National 4 or National 5 Computing Science course in S3, developing more advanced programming, database and software design skills.
